If it is done correctly, it should not have anything to do with your sump pump or any odors.

Getting smoke odor out of a home is nearly impossible  Months later, the smell of smoke remained despite attempts to mitigate and eliminate this odor.  

It is low odor and it is thick paint.

I was thinking in just showing up and saying that there is a strong odor downstairs and it could be toxic, so I have to go in immediately, then take pictures.

I think I found the main source of the odor and just killz'd it.

Also, ODOR is a huge issue.

The unit was about 60 degrees, nothing burning, no odors, no running water to create steam -- nothing.
