I get threatened with a lawsuit multiple times per year.  

Do not know much about them, but the Fund of Funds model will be an interesting case study during the next 3-5 years especially as deals go bad and investors look to these sponsors and the level of due diligence they did will be very interesting to see how they handle the lawsuits, as its not an if but a when, regarding a lawsuit.

I think there is value in ADU as long as it is legally done and can be legally rented.On the sale side a benefit can always be an in law suite.

As fund manager you owe your investors a fiduciary responsibility which I can foresee as a basis for lawsuits should the fund not perform as anticipated.  

You might be able to have it considered as a mother in law suite.

I understand there are some protections that go along with it with all the law suits going around but hardly doubt they would go after an office with two agents in it.

This could help protect against any future lawsuits. 

Back 25 years ago I was named in two lawsuits solely because the plaintiff attorneys found out I was raising capital for a new investment fund, and they knew it would be cheaper for me to pay them off then to have to disclose the lawsuit in the Private Placement Memorandum.
