An electric dryer will run up the bill of that unit quickly , where a washing machine wont nearly as much . 

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. over night charging can be done with 240 ( like a cloths dryer) that runs on 30 amp or so.. 

They are durable, but catch hair and dog fur more than the Bassets.I would avoid faux leather.
