They care about what they estimate it would cost to rebuild the home.All else being equal, yes, older homes are more expensive to insure than newer homes for a variety of reasons. 

Biggerpockets members are pretty easy going, nobody is going to be making any judgments if you mess up and post something silly, etc.

I am wanting to get more into the flipping side since I have leverage and can do the rehab at a fraction of the price compared to somebody else.

Has anyone else experienced this or found it to be a red flag?

@April TaylorI wouldn't worry about the basement not being finished, but I would worry about the stairs if they are unsafe (or anything else that is unsafe).
