We have miles of coastline, an up and coming downtown redevelopment, reasonable taxes, low crime rate, and a top notch school system.

Largest trees in the world, one of hottest places in the world, one of most beautiful coastlines in the world, one of best moderate climates in the U.S., among the best trail running, cycling, hiking, and kayaking in the U.S...etc.There's a reason people spend all their lives traveling then still come back to the San Francisco Bay Area specifically.  

At least on the North San Diego, Orange County, Malibu, Oxnard, Ventura, Santa Barbara County Coastline.

The market is as harsh as the Siren’s rocky coastline.

And I'd have to find other IRS write-offs to cover the annual rental profits.Some complicating variables to note: Since it's a beach house, the value has spiked far faster than the estimated worth of the other homes, a reality that surely will continue, since the coastline is shrinking, not growing.

If it’s on the west side make sure you look at where exactly it is as they’re having big issues with erosion on the coastline and people are dumping their places. 

I can't speak as much to the Southern Maine market, however speaking to the market in the New Hampshire seacoast, it varies wildly depending on how far you travel away from the whole 18 miles that make up the NH coastline. 

The coastline stretches hundreds of miles from north to south and we have the desert!
