General aviation pilots won't be liking this, drone airspace would need to be designated and pilots will need to fly through it and it will make flying nap of the earth or low altitude flying more concerning.

If you're not tied to Amex, and want to maximize individual categories then something like the Altitude Go card from USBank is decent with 200 bonus, and 4x points at restaurants and a $15 annual streaming credit.Chase Freedom Flex is 200 bonus and a rotating 5x category that changes every 3 months (capped at 1500 spend per quarter), and a 5x on travel stuff purchased through the chase travel portal. 

It's a vastly different ball game at that altitude. 

When I went to depart there are big signs showing density altitude that day it was 8800 feet...

@Aaron Parry I can't comment much on Worcester, except to say that the Worcester hills are at about 1,000 feet in altitude. 

The VFR transition is from Santa Monica to the south  or coming back into santa Monica .. it requires no radio contact with LA center or LAX you simply sqwak the code and fly at the assigned altitude..

Laser printers sometimes need adjusting on the software side for altitude.

You say you are not rushing, but the altitude that you are displaying in your post speaks volume.  

I was surprised to learn that Maine was only 0.9 degrees Celsius colder on average over the year than my area - I presume due to proximity to the ocean and lower altitude.

There are days I felt like I am climbing Mt Everest and I am not acclimated to the high altitude.
