Here’s my recommendation to get it under control: For a quick fix, start by sealing up any gaps using acoustic caulk around outlets, baseboards, or other small openings.

It's designed to protect assets in the event of lawsuits, negligence, etc. and it only applies when there is underlying insurance coverage.

I was thinking that the very thin hard carpet could serve as a sound insulation layer, and just installing click together LVP right over the thin carpet and the thin hard stick on tiles.
