I don’t have much practical experience yet, but I analyze properties every day and try to understand how the market works.I’m at a point where I want to start investing, but I have limited resources and many possible paths wholesaling, get a w2 job for a DSCR loans or fha, flips, etc.).I’d love to hear advice from experienced investors: if you were in my position at 19, what would you do to start building a real estate portfolio or gaining real experience?

In your case, even though you may be coming in as a second-round investor/lienholder, the loan documents and other applicable agreements can be drafted to modify the default rule and instead dictate that multiple rounds of lenders hold the same lien position.

@Candace Hughes is putting a more positive spin on the area as she's a Real Estate Consultant with something to sell.- Nothing wrong with that as she still isn't over-hyping it:)From our experience in dealing with investors looking at our Metro Detroit market, your biggest challenge will be finding Property Management that can handle Class C/D areas & corresponding tenants.
