Was asked in a DM what I thought about a specific Self Storage Syndication, so reposting here.Note:  We buy and develop Self Storage. 

TV developers continue to build new construction, and many folks bought in the market to rent out before retiring in the last 18 months. 

There's been a few Houston developers on Biggerpockets podcast episodes.One that comes to mind is Donovan Adesoro. 

I am in the process of expanding a mom and pop self storage facility and I am looking for a mentor.

The fact that 8 acres were developed and 200 were left as farm is a clue there is some issue.Another first step would be to determine the possible economics of the development.

It is possible to develop the deal and not build anything at all.

I've been using it for over 4 years for self showings with no issues.

I would assume that you'd just simply sell each individual lot to the developer at a set lot price such that your cost to purchase the raw land and improve it to buildable lots was worth the proposed profit per lot.
