Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer

We're looking for a FULL STACK RUBY ON RAILS DEVELOPER to join our tight-knit development team at BiggerPockets. We’re searching for someone who is not only brilliant and creative, but who is motivated to help drive the growth of what is quickly becoming the de-facto online destination for our industry. Of course, our ideal candidate has unquestionable coding skills, an eye for detail, leadership, planning & management capabilities, problem solving skills, motivation, the drive to succeed and a can-do attitude.

Our technology stack contains all the usual suspects: Ruby and the Rails framework, MySQL, HTML, and CSS (with some CoffeeScript). If you're a passionate developer with at least 2 years coding experience and believe you fit into the following requirements, we'd love to hear from you.

NOTE: We’re primarily seeking local developers, but if you’re remote and awesome, feel free to apply. Also, we are open to both junior and senior level hires.

Responsibilities:
Help coordinate and schedule development cycle
Develop, design, test, deploy and maintain new and existing features for the website (both front and back end, including UI)
Stay up to date and well-versed in the technologies that comprise the environment hosting the app (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Memcached, etc).

Skills:
Expertise with the Ruby programming language and the Ruby on Rails framework
Ability to author semantic markup
Competency with JavaScript and popular libraries (i.e. jQuery)
Expertise with CSS and CSS preprocessors (SCSS)
Strong database design and administration skills (MySQL and/or Postgres)
Basic system administration skills (UNIX)
Experience with version control (Git)
Understanding of web service architecture design (e.g. REST)
UI design skills
Experience with automated testing

Education:
CS/Engineering degree, Computer Science degree or demonstrated equivalent experience.
