Thanks everyone for the welcome.

Brandon Turner I'll be sure to read those articles ASAP I really appreciate the suggestions.

Mehran Kamari guess you're right about the name thing. lol Also wanted to say that my credit is actually pretty good. 720's to be exact. Been making sure that was getting better for a while now since I always knew I wanted to invest in real estate at some point. Just have to get the funds in order.

How's it going everyone,

Let me start with saying how very excited I am to have found Bigger Pockets. This site is awesome! I've wanted way into the world of Real Estate Investing for a long time and Bigger Pockets does an excellent job with providing that.

I been in DFW now for about 8 years and I'm further up in the northern area from McKinney, TX. I don't have any real estate experience aside from purchasing my first home in McKinney, TX, so it's minimal at best. However, since I was a teenager I've had a love for the idea of investing in Real Estate for the possibilities that it can bring.

Being big on spending time with family and friends and trying to foster those relationships I've always wanted to be financially free so I could focus on those relationships that matter most to me. I've got a big family myself (4 kids) and would like to be able to provide a better lifestyle for them, my wife and our mothers.

I don't really have lots of money to start but I understand the value of having a skill and providing value to someone experienced in return for an opportunity to learn. I guess I need some direction on where to start. With lows funds, wholesaling is where I figured I'd have to begin. I've seen some skepticism around that area of the business from more successful investors and for valid reasons of course. But I'm willing to learn whatever is required to be successful in this business and my hope is that with the help of the Bigger Pockets family, I can be just that.
