Thanks everyone!  @Bonnie Rhodes If not Nashville, I'd likely go to 30A or the Smokies for my first investment.  Eventually would like to expand into the Scottsdale area.  Also have extended family in AR, so I've also looked at lakefront properties since our trips there usually involve long, lake weekends.  My goal at some point would be to cover 4 main views with beach, lake, mountain, and desert.

@Kelly Worley the more I read about Branson, the more I want to have a property there too.  Seems like it has something for everyone between golf, lakes, etc.

Hey everyone! First time posting here, but I've been researching STR for a while. Planning to invest sometime in the near future. Wanted to get some feedback on whether it's wiser as a rental property newbie to invest and run locally or invest and run remotely. I'm leaning toward a vacation market, but wanted more opinions on the topic. Thanks in advance!
