Thought this might be the right section since a lot of you probably deal with the paperwork and recorders office type of things, being the legal issues section

Anyways, I was trying to understand the recorders office. I met a guy who said he would spend hours looking through documents at the recorders office before buying a trustee property. He said he would use it online for the counties that offered it. 

I know of the site http://www.criis.com/index.html lets you search for certain counties in California, but  I dont see a way to do it by address, just document numbers.  Is there a way to search documents online by the address of the property?
