@joe fairless I've learned so much in the 6 months I've been with the company. Most of our homes are old so I have learned how hard it is to keep out moisture in basements... I've learned how to do so many things myself which will be great down the line when I have my own places to care for. One of the biggest things I have noticed is this: college kids don't really care if you just remodeled the house they are moving into... They are going to trash it regardless. I never treated any place I rented like these kids do, it's just awful. There goes their security deposit 

Man I missed it! I am right in the middle of turnover at the property management company I work for so I have been super busy. Will you guys be having one in August? I'd love to attend!

Hey Tom! I am almost through reading that as well, that book was the first step for me too. I have now read a few on Shawn's list - Rich Dad Poor Dad is excellent. Good luck to you!!

Hi all! I am extremely excited to see what I can offer and what I can learn as part of the BiggerPockets community. I have had some reservations about getting started in the past but I am finally breaking out of my shell and realizing that there is no time like the present. 

I have been in Bloomington since 2009 and I currently work for a property management company on the IU campus learning about the real estate market in the area looking for my first deal. My goal is to use the buy and hold strategy for my first home and see where that takes me.
