@Kealoha Ishikawa @Lee Schreck I'm 100% sure I could access the funds from my 401k/IRA, but I'm uncertain if I will be slapped with a penalty somewhere down the road if I happened to be audited. I even contacted the IRS requesting guidance and clarification, but of course, they could not give me an answer. If I was in a situation where I "needed" the funds, I would roll the dice; however, that is not my situation. I simply would like to reallocate some Capital from equities to Real Estate. Please let me know if either of you find a definitive answer.

Will loss of rental income from my overnight rental qualify me for the penalty free 401k distribution?  I had two or three months of less than average rentals and one month of no rentals due to Covid travel restrictions.

Does anyone know if loss of rental income from an overnight rental will qualify for a penalty free withdrawal?
