I've participated in FB and I think it's great.  But so is BiggerPockets, youtube and the library.  Best thing about FB for me was, once I spent the money I had no choice but to figure out how to make it back. I'm just not the type of person that wants to regret paying a bunch of money for something, so I used that to get out of my comfort zone.  Now I do many deals each month and I've done a lot of those with other members of FB and all the other networking groups I participate in.  I don't suggest joining or paying for education, but it's better than not doing anything at all!  My advice, get off the couch and go do deals!  Stepping out of your comfort zone is the ticket....FB just helps some people do that.
