@Dustin Frank

I'm a little confused by the general consensus of the planning committee - "The General consensus of the planning committee was that they do not like spot zoning and would prefer to have neighborhoods more uniform instead of allowing special review on a wrongfully zoned lot.", did it sound like they are willing to consider rezoning or not?

Also, if under contract with a rezoning contingency how do you plan to petition the town planning committee further once under contract? I have looked into development in the past and am very interested by your situation.

@Tiffany Ralston

Its nice to hear from someone that thinks sooner is better! I completely agree with your "unsolicited" advice :) Best of luck on your own endeavors as well!

@Kyle Thomas

Kyle,

Im glad you asked! Im interested 4+ unit multifamily properties in the Ames/Des Moines area to buy and hold. I would like to acquire properties that I can force some equity in through minor repairs but ultimately find a deal that has strong cashflow. As a college student I realize that I will have to be extemely creative when it comes to financing the deals but I have looked into various options such as FHA, "BRR", partnering with others etc. There is a lot I need to make happen but hopefully I can connect with more people like yourself and get it done. Thanks for asking!

Hey everyone! My name is Zach DeMaris and I am junior in computer engineering at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. I have had a Bigger Pockets account for about a month now but have decided that the only way I am going to achieve my real estate goals is by getting out there and interacting with people that have similar goals so here I am.

I do not have any real estate investing background but I am extremely dedicated to growing my knowledge. I am very interested in buy and hold real estate investing and my goal is to acquire 2 - 3 properties within the next year. Hopefully I can contribute as much as I've benefited from this awesome community in the future to help others achieve their goals as well!

I love talking about real estate and connecting with new people so feel free to reach out to me!
