Thank you all very much for the warm welcomes!

@Joel Owens I am primarily looking for a multi-family property to start with, but would not be opposed to a SFH if the numbers seemed to work. I would like to get into a buy and hold strategy, eventually building up a portfolio, but probably wouldn't be ready to purchase a second property for another year or two provided everything works out well with the first.

@Daniel Raposo  and @Account Closed I will definitely look into the meetup in Rocky Hill, thank you.

Hello everybody! My name is Zack Deane and I am from East Hampton, CT.  I am a husband and father of two boys, my oldest is 2 and my youngest is one month old.  My wife and I are hoping to officially become real estate investors soon.  We have been interested in real estate for quite a while now, probably originating from watching reality shows in the early 2000s.  We are looking to invest with a buy and hold strategy and have begun searching in the Middletown, CT area.  Our current experience consists only of buying our current home in 2006.  Since recently getting serious about the idea, I have discovered the wealth of information that is Bigger Pockets and have listened to about 1/2 of the podcasts so far.  I look forward for to meeting members and learning more from the community.
