Should I level the tiles before installing the vinyl flooring or just install them over top. They are a 6mm waterproof clicking system plank.

Hi everyone,

Closed on my first student rental property a couple months ago. Looking to change out these tiles but worried that they might be asbestos tiles as the home was built in the early 1900s (not sure how old these tiles are) and that could become costly.

Would you just put vinyl planks over the tiles? or would you rip out and install tile in the bathroom, and vinyl planks in the other areas.

Might DIY or hire someone to do the work.
