Well what I did was just tell the insurance company that I'm not going to rent it so I could get it under one policy to not delay closing or lose financing. Then after we close ill try and find a loophole. My lender didn't specifically tell me I couldn't rent it out I'm just assuming that they would have a problem with it. @John Mocker

I close on my first house hack in a week and the property has a guest house on it. My wife and I plan on living in the guest house and renting the main house out. insurance is telling me I need to insure the houses separately if I plan on renting one out but I'm scared my lender (navy federal) won't give me the 0 down loan because I plan on renting the main property out. Advice???

My fiancé and I are getting ready to start our investing future together and we were wondering what kind of job she could get to help us save money with our first couple of properties, (other than an agent). we were thinking something along the lines of insurance, mortgage or property management companies. We figured other than getting some kind of retail job she could find something that could help with building our investment portfolio. Keep in mind she is still a part time college student with little work history. Any suggestions?
