Definitely not a pro here, in fact, I just started.... but I would say don't invest in a professional logo yet. I think that would be putting the cart ahead of the horse. Get going and focus on the fundamentals before you invest time, energy, or especially money into something like graphic design for a logo.

@Dante Foreman Well said. There is always something to be learned. I appreciate you taking the time to explain in more detail. If you ever want to chat or bounce ideas off of one another, I would be more than happy to help!

Where in MD are you? As someone is NOVA, I also am looking for some help understanding this process. As I have mentioned in previous posts - I am willing to offer free labor in exchange for education.

@Zac Hall

Currently just reading anything and everything I can get my hands on. I'm starting to understand how choosing a niche is very important. Simply overwhelming at the plethora of information.

One specific issue I've had is how to estimate rehab costs without a GC or inspection? And I understand speed is the key to landing great deals. But I feel just totally lost on how to estimate rehab costs within a few thousand dollars. That seems to be my biggest issue when running the numbers.

I would imagine it would make sense to jump in and help someone out and provide value. Just not exactly sure how.

I assume that jumping in is the best bet! I have recently posted a help offered post on BP

https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/12/topics/840419-how-can-i-help-you

where I am offering free labor to help someone rehab a property. I haven't gotten to rehab estimates in project but assume that https://www.biggerpockets.com/... is a good start. Have you read that one yet?

I guess understanding what a general cost would be for the type of repair you are looking at is a good step.

Need to replace floors - what material and how many square feet are we talking - Then round up.

Paint - what type of paint is tenant proof and how much? Then round up

Average kitchen makeover probably can be ball parked based (Then round up) on big item needs but I have no idea.

As you can tell - I am very inexperienced so all this is just speculation but hopefully someone who has some more knowledge will see this and chime in!

I think just going back and forth on things is the key to understanding so I am happy to have a discussion anytime. I got your colleague request and look forward to learning more with you!

(Disclaimer: I posted this in the Virginia Real Estate forum as well and got little to no response so excuse me if this is breaking any guidelines.)

New REI here! Just reading through the beginner books, listening to podcasts, attending webinars, and talking to folks on BP to get all the knowledge I can.

I want to begin getting some experience performing REI related tasks and I figured the best way to do it was to reach out to investors already doing those things in the Loudoun County, Virginia area (if the task can be done remotely, we can work that out too).

What is it that you don't have time to do, but would help you and your business? If you are willing to teach me how to perform these tasks - I will do them for you! I figured this is the best way to provide value to those who may be running low on time/energy.

Need to find & analyze deals - let me know how you prefer this task accomplished and I will start doing it.

Need to rehab a property - I've got capable hands that are here to help.

All in all, I want to provide value in return for hands-on experience. My goal is to learn through practice and help you along the way.

If you've got some ideas, I am all ears! Let's talk!

Kevin,

I am also just beginning. Anything you are stuck on in particular? I would be happy to have a conversation so that maybe an alternative opinion or second set of eyes would provide some valuable insight. Let me know!
