So I'm very new to this and I'm just practicing analysis on some multi-family properties I come across with no intention to buy...yet ;). I find that most of the data (home value, potential rents, taxes) is easy to come by. The hardest part for me is trying to determine my repair/rehab costs. Some of these properties look like they need substantial renovations. My plan would be to go the BRRRR route.

How do you all do estimates for how much a potential repair would cost? Is there a book or some resource I can look into? Thanks upfront for any advice :)

@David Zheng thanks for the info! If you are ever in Dallas, hit me up. I owe you a beer ;)

Holy crap! Congrats @David Zheng. That is pretty impressive.

What tools did you use to find this property and the financing? How did you know it was such a good deal?

@Steven C. Suarez I'm definitely interested in a meet up too! Keep me posted

Hi everyone,

I'm brand new to REI. My day job is as a software engineer but I am looking to use REI as a way to build long term wealth. I was a mortgage underwriter for a few years but that is about the extent of my knowledge when it comes to this field.

I've been listening to the podcast for about a week and I decided it was time for me to take the plunge and join the community. I am really just looking to network and learn as much as I can while figuring out which niche is best for me.
