Hi all,

My brother-in-law just got his license and it's expected we use him to buy our first home. We just began looking. I feel like this puts us in a very fragile position, both him and us being inexperienced. I want to hold him up to the same expectations I would have for any agent, but I need advice as to what to ask from him. I have limited availability to search for houses on my own, I need for him to do all the heavy lifting. Caveat: he still has a full time job. How should I proceed?

The plan: I am looking for 200-275k 3bd-2bath home in need of cosmetic upgrades in the DFW area to buy in 2-6 months. The plan is to rent out the spare rooms.
