Hi all, I am a real estate developer based in Mumbai, India. We mainly do residential apartment building construction from ground up. Currently working on a 200,000 sqft residential community apartment building targeted at the luxury market of mumbai.

My wife is from Chicago & Philadelphia. With that in mind, I am considering expanding the business to the US, starting by building a rental asset portfolio here.

Currently am in Chicago for a week and looking to build a network of agents, lenders, cpas who are interested in working together.

My goal this week is to understand the Chicago market, understand financing options I would have, and also review the tax implications and business formation as an International investor.

Looking forward to connecting with people within the BP community.

Currently reading the book Deep Work by Cal Newport where he talks about one major factor to being successful (most of the time) depends on the ability to do deep work.

This he notes will provide one the ability to quickly master hard things and produce at an elite level. ie with speed and quality.

Curious to know in what ways deep work can be applied to Real Estate investing.

Would love to hear more on activities you’ll have done deeply that lead to better quality/results.

What practices in relationship to deep work have you’ll found most beneficial in RE Investing?

It is great to have you on BP! Our company works with a lot of foreign investors and they are mainly focused on Florida. Boots on the ground is extremely important when long distance investing and landlording. PM me if you need any contacts for CPA or attorneys to help you get situated.

Hello everyone,

It was really great to meet all those I connected with at the BPConference in Nashville!

My name is Yash and I am currently looking deeper into either creating a Long-Distance Real Estate portfolio of fix-and-flips/BRRRRs that will provide me cashflow, or/and doing AirBnB Rental Arbitrages.

My family has been in Real Estate investment and development in India, while I have been in the US since the past 6 years for my education. Having graduated I worked for a national GC getting construction management experience and recently quit my job to commit to my family business.

My plan is to primarily be based in India while expanding the US portfolio through quarterly month long trips to the US. Would love to hear tips on building systems that support this lifestyle.

Market wise - I am planning on setting up my base in Atlanta, however I am interested in all areas of the US where there is opportunity for highest long term returns & appreciation.

I ended up buying almost all the BP books at the conference and am currently in the research and networking phase of setting up my business.

Based on everyone I met at the conference, BP is a great community and I am excited to be a part of it. Would love to connect with more people. Any advice that applies to me would be appreciated!
