Thanks to all that have replied,

I am hoping there is such a resource hence the question. Certainly no harm in asking

-- Jim Stardust,--
This sounds like a fantastic resource. However I am denied access to this resource recieving the following message

You are not authorized to view this page
The Web server you are attempting to reach has a list of IP addresses that are not allowed to access the Web site, and the IP address of your browsing computer is on this list.

I suspect this is because i am trying to access the website outside of the USA (from Australia). Looking on Wikipedia this does look like a handy resource that may give what i am after. So thanks for the post. But sadly no help to me. Whether it has rental vacancy rates - i can only hope it does.

Interesting site, and certainly worth a look. However this gives Housing Vacancy rates - not rental vacancy rates. Which is significantly different. If i was looking in these areas i would certainly look again at the site.
http://www.city-data.com is a useful reference for other areas, but still lacks Rental Vacancy Rates..

However, it does perhaps suggest that first i need to find a realtor who has access to this sort of data, and then pick where to buy. Rather than vice-versa.

Looking at buying RE remotely, so cant go to local investor meetings. I am after a Rental Vacancy Rate, by zip or suburb for different areas (and States)
Does anyone know of any good resources online.
Cheers
