I just started receiving Michael Kimble's emails too- they are tempting, but I agree with Mr_Investor's remarks.

Any updates on whether his Customer Support is any more accessible and responsive now?

...Is Jay Turner still working with him? And Aziz, what did you learn from Jay?

Thanks--

Welcome, Brian!

If I interpret Jon's greeting correctly, I'll be seeing you on the Bulk REO forum...am not sure if just *mentioning* "bulk REOs" in our introduction here is considered discussion, Jon? Does BiggerPockets have a zero tolerance policy for such errors -- so that we are docked points from our Influence even the first time we make a mistake? Yikes....

...Am wondering how the number of points of Influence is determined for each posting: the number seems to vary....

Hi-

I've attended quite a few REI seminars & webinars, networked, & read books. I was a landlord for about four years, & now am learning about short sales and bulk REO sales-

I've been in REI for >5 years; am focusing now on selling bulk REOs & short sales & owner financing.

Early on, I stabilized and repositioned a multifamily property in central/western Maine, doubling rents in the process, then sold it for apparently significantly higher than the going market price to a neighbor. Another neighbor there expressed amazement that there actually might be landlords such as myself who care about the buildings, tenants, and community; and a third neighbor there told me the whole neighborhood / area improved "110%" after I bought the property and started making improvements (many of them simple- such as working with tenants to pick up their belongings from the yards to store in the basement).

Now I want to earn much more money, and relatively quickly, if possible. I've been advised that owner financing can be a good strategy for that. And I'm learning about bulk REO sales, so joined that group, too.

Thanks for making these forums available, Joshua et al.!

Well- whatever I might have said that docked points from my Influence rating for my first posting, I did earn 4 points for that last posting-

Anyway, best to you! If a REI conference comes up in NYC, it's nice to have another contact in that area.

So, what has the impact of the RTC on buying REO properties actually been, by now (a year later)? ...Positive or negative impact?
