Post: What is your WHY ?!?!?

Even though I'm young and just starting out, my WHY is for both myself and family. I grew up with my parents lining up to get food stamps and afraid of losing their home. I'm going into this career with the intent of becoming successful enough that I can allow my parents to retire early and no longer worry about paying bills. I'm also doing this for me. Going through Elementary to High School I've always been compared to my cousin and a few other classmates and I felt I could never be better than them. I'm driven for success in this career in RE in order to prove to myself than I am just as capable as anyone else I've been compared too. This is my WHY and what I believe will push me through the rough times in order to come out on top.

@Michael S. Could you answer the question above? I'm sorry I tried to @mention you on my android device, but it seems like the @mentions do not work on the app or my phone.  Thank you for reading my response!

Hello @Brent Coombs , I was talking about the MLS as a way to add potential buyers to your list and finding comps. Plus you can find additional information on the owner for mailing purposes. I would use it as a place to network. Thank you for your input and the insightful information. I've also heard multiple stories about wholesalers systematically sending low ball offers to MLS properties until they get a deal, which I think is not right.

Are there any benefits of being a RE agent for your wholesaling business besides MLS access? Can I be my own closing agent on a deal?

Hey just a question on why a lot of wholesalers pass on REO Properties? Is it possible in California to assign a contract with a bank owner? Are there any other ways to make money off REOs?

@Michael Sato Ok thank you! Do you know what the attire would be at those networking events?

Hello Fellow BP members!

My name is Winston, I'm 18 years old and decided to finally make my own BP account. I've been on the forums for a few months, but just made my account a couple days ago. I'm looking to make various connections in the REI business. Hopefully I can be a bird dog or intern. I'm planning on getting my RE license this summer. So make sure to request and I look forward to work with all of you and willing to take any advice you offer.

-Winston
