@Clarence Thanks for the feedback. Agree on Lennox and the property we were able to get is in Inglewood. We got a 3 bed 2 bath place between the 405 and the stadium off Century. Plan to live in and Air Bnb for a little while, but may shift to longer term rentals in the future. Appreciate your thoughts on the rental market over here.

@Jay Some multi families came up during my search around Century and Van Nes on the other side of the stadium. Other offers were accepted so I didn't pursue further but maybe something to continue looking at.

Appreciate the responses from everyone. Wrapping up getting a place near the stadium that should have a good layout for Air BnB opportunity. Looking forward to this opportunity.

Post: CA - Tax impact - closing costs

Hello,

I am looking to close on a home soon in California and it appears I will have the option to close in either 2018 and 2019. I think the only difference to me would be the tax implications with the closing costs. I don't currently itemize on my tax return and the closing costs won't exceed my standard deduction for 2018. Thus, to me it seems like I should close in 2019 so that I can take the deduction next year when I will be itemizing.

Would really appreciate some tax advice / insight on this topic. Thank you all in advance,

Will

Hello BP. I'm a looking at making a purchase in the Inglewood, CA area and hoping to supplement with rental income - either getting a roommate in a SFH or acquiring a multi unit property. I have a few options on the table that fit my budget. Just wanted to get people's opinion of the area. With the stadium on its way and the build up of the community, are most people still expecting home appreciation or has that already taken place since the announcement? How is the rental market in the area? Has anyone else been successful in finding renters for their properties? Really appreciate any feedback. Thank you in advance.

Hello, I am still new to real estate investing and hoping to expand my education and network. If anyone is interested in meeting for coffee or maybe a beer in west LA, I would love the chance to pick the brain of more experienced investors. I am mainly looking for rental properties in LA and OC and the surrounding areas. Similarly, recommended meetup groups are also welcomed. Thanks in advance.
