Post: Wholesaling on the MLS? (North Carolina)

So, kind of a weird question. I'm fairly sure of the answer, but double checking.

I'm currently working with a friend of a friend, who does everything from flipping, to owning rentals, etc. He's been a big help at helping me analyze deals, and has helped market properties with me to his cash buyers, which is fantastic. He emails me yesterday and asks if I've ever considered listing a property on the MLS with him since his cash buyers haven't shown much interest in that property yet. This is just a standard assignment of contract deal, of course, so my question is throwing an assignment of contract on the MLS is surely illegal, right? I would love to understand this situation more, if anyone can help.

Thanks!

@Bara Nwokoma Thank you! So, as long as it's not up for auction, and I would still be dealing with the "original owner", I wouldn't have a problem?

And of course being honest and upfront about things being taken out of their cut is the way to go for sure.

I have a list of tax delinquent properties, and I'd like to start mailing to them, going face to face, etc. My question is are these properties assignable as a wholesale purchase, just as other properties are? If so, how would you structure things? I'm in North Carolina, if that helps. I've heard that you can't pay back due taxes at the closing table, and it would have to be settled beforehand, so I'm not really sure. Anything helps, thanks!

I'm on the verge of closing my first Wholesale deal, and I need to find an attorney to handle my closing. I've called a few and some are willing to take it on, but aren't fully familiar with the process with cash closings, which blows my mind. I'm still looking for a buyer, but I was told to open escrow first. Anybody?

Can't you just do it in your own name? I live in North Carolina, if that helps. Thanks!
