Hi forum, I'm sure this topic comes up regularly, but...
We have purchased a vacation rental in Coastal Connecticut, Beach community. Rentals during the summer are weekly as a rule. Very new to this and talking to neighbors most folks (landlords and renters) use direct booking to fill up the 13-wk summer calendar. I would love to find a software to help automate the following tasks, there are lots of options, most at $40/month, would prefer cheaper but will probably pay this for the best software that can best handle:
- creating a direct booking website from my Airbnb listing, I know some websites have an auto-builder which would be preferred
- handling automated messaging
- handling calendar and payments, including add-ons
- sending agreements and collecting and returning deposits
I am overwhelmed with the options and suffering analysis paralysis. So far OwnerRez seems to be the one I am most leaning towards. Appreciate those willing to give their 2 cents to a common question.

I did this in a beach town 1.5h from Boston and in our peak weeks we did a Saturday to Saturday (10A check out and 4P check in) and it made life a lot easier for management.
Thanks, we are a similar area so maybe Sat-Sat is the best

@Will Boller, in a quick click around on Interval International's website (https://www.intervalworld.com/web/my/home) a major exchange for timeshare properties, it seems like it is 50/50 from my small sample looking at properties in the northeast USA, with a handful allowing Sunday weekly check-ins too.
Granted, this exchange is not an Airbnb, but it is all weekly stays in condos run, presumably, by large professional operators that have studied this business to maximize revenue.
What a great answer! Don't offer an opinion but look at the data! Are you a scientist?

Talk with local cleaners and then decide. You're likely going to have to work around the preference and schedule of a cleaner anyway, so just skip over that step and ask what they want on the front end.
Or find a good cleaner that will accommodate varied week to week cleaning. If you can and book with a 3-5 night minimum, you'll make more money. It's not that much of a hassle. Finding the cleaner/cleaning company is the hardest part.
For now, it will be just us doing the cleaning and yard every week. Most of the beach rentals in our community are strictly weekly, it makes planning easier for us. But yours is a good point if/when we hire cleaning help.

Does Hospitable have the function to create a direct booking website imported directly from your Airbnb listing?

Hi forum! My wife and I have a disagreement. We have a STR that will be weekly during the summer, so that cleaning, etc., is more easily plannable for us. I think Fri-Fri rentals makes more sense, so that the tenant has one uninterrupted weekend. (Most of our renter population will be coming from Boston and NYC area < 2 hours away.) She thinks Sat-Sat. For those that do weekly rentals only, what check-in, check-out day to renters prefer?
