@Kim Meredith Hampton

Thank you very much for such a detailed response. This is almost exactly what I wanted.

I will make sure to check all those points before I make my decision.

Best of luck to you and your own management business : )

Hi Everyone,

So I recently acquired my first buy and hold property (2 bedroom apartment). Since I am currently residing far away from where I bought the property (My home city), I need to find a decent management company that can look after it for me and manage the tenants and day to day.

I already have a company in mind, so I suppose the question here is what should I be keeping an eye out for.

I think they want about 10% of the rent for their monthly payment, which I understand is quite standard.

Is there anything else I should keep an eye out for, maybe in the contract etc?

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Hi! Although I am not residing in Cape Town at the moment, my investment and any future investments will likely be there and in the surrounding area.

Is there any active Capetonians or South Africans on BP?

If so, send me an invite or comment below. I would love to network and hear more about your experiences.

Hi @John Van Uytven!

Thanks a lot, the site and the people on here has already been an immense help!

Great to hear from another fellow Gyeongju foreigner :).

I am definitely planning to try and attend any of the Seoul meetings that I can, I go up to Seoul every now and again, and yes, purely because of the KTX is this even possible.

Thanks for the welcome and best of luck to any endeavors you now have over in America!

Hi everyone! I am quite new at this and looking to break into real estate. I am currently residing in South Korea, but am originally from Cape Town, South Africa.

I am actively looking for my first property back home, as there are many under priced neighborhoods at the moment with good return potential.

My real question is about South Korea. I have only been here about 5 months and am a foreigner teaching. Is there any local groups or meet-ups or a local community. Would love to learn more about the investing potential in South Korea and the in's and outs, from what I can already tell it is quite unconventional.

Regards,

Wihan
