Hello BP
My wife and I have spent the last year reading and educating ourselves on real estate investing and primarily Multi-Fam. We are now at a point where we are both just very eager and itching to get started, as I know that is by far the best way I learn is by taking action. Our long term goal is to become full time investors on a large scale and for us to retire from our W2 so we can have more freedom and time with our children and to give back to others.
Where we are feeling sort of stuck is on where we should start. Should we start out by seeking smaller Multi-Fam such as 12-24 units to get our feet wet and gain experience or should we invest a 100k passively on a much larger deal like a 200+ unit with our mentor/coach and learn that way? Which do you all feel is our best approach to getting started and gain the experience and confidence we need to scale higher in the future?
Side note: we are accredited and have very high annual income!
Thank you all for your support and guidance as we start our journey.

Which mentor did you and your partner decide to go with? 1200 doors in under a year is highly impressive!! Awesome job!!

First, I think it's great you're considering a mentor/coaching program. My partner and I joined a group a little over a year ago and as of last week, we have just under 1200 units in our portfolio. I fully support the mentor/coaching model and I don't think we'd be in the position we are in now without it. My only experience with Rod Khleif was through a meet-up where he was the speaker so I can't provide any feedback on his program. But I would encourage you to go through the same process with 2-3 other groups before you make your decision if you haven't already. We met with 4 other mentors before figuring out the right fit for us. Good luck!

Good afternoon everyone.
My wife and I have had a few calls with their team and a zoom call with Rod himself walking us through his program and the costs associated with it. Obviously we’re entertaining all of this because multi family apartment investing is our long term goal to create financial freedom. It sounds like a really great program with plenty of guidance & support for first time investors.
Our question is do any of you all have any knowledge of Rod Khleif and would you recommend them?
Thanks

Hello Bigger Pockets. I am brand new here and excited about learning.
My wife and I are committed to starting our investing journey in 2021. I am an operating partner & General Manager for a very large automotive franchised dealership and we are ready to diversify our earnings and income by investing into real estate. Long term mission is commercial multi family, but in the more immediate we would like to potentially embark on some Airbnb for some immediate cash flow.
I’m curious to know if anyone on here has experience in the Virginia Beach/tidewater market and if so does anyone know whether apartment communities here allow short term rental subleasing?
Much thanks in advance for any guidance & support as we start this journey.
