David thank you for the time & input. Im going to attempt to see if maybe they can meet me in the middle & share the cost. But yeah I agree going the attorney route wouldnt be adantageous for me & my wallet.

Thank you for your reply Ryan! They ended up in my room and somehow my roommate didnt get them at all. Im going to look at my lease and speak with my neighbors to see if they have them too. I appreciate the feedback!

So I live in a large apartment complex and recently discovered bed bugs on my mattress. I am 100% positive me nor my roommate have brought them in. I informed the property manager about the issue & asked what are they going to do to treat the issue. He informed me they are going to heat treat the apt & I will be at fault for the $500 expense! 

My question is what can I do to fight this? I discovered it is a complex that has had issues with bed bugs in the past. He threatened to add on late fees if I do not pay for the treatment.
