Saw that my area has no investor meet ups and figured, why not make one? Was wondering if there was any input on how to reach people outside of facebook or how you would like to be approached in a situation like this.

Quote from @Blake Peterson:

House hacking is a great way to start! You buy a duplex, triplex, fourplex and live in one side while renting out the other units. You can get conventional or FHI financing with less than a 20% down payment. You get the experience of being a landlord and managing tenants, but won't be overwhelmed with a lot of tenants at once. "Set for Life" by Scott Trench lays this out well and is a good read. I'm currently saving up to do this exact thing. Let me know if you have any questions.

I don’t have much money and was thinking it would be most beneficial to partner with someone who does have the money and just manage the other half regardless of how we split money. I would still gain some experience in the game.

What did you do that first got you into the real estate game? Because I was thinking about getting a deal that looked good and going to find a experience partner to help me get over the initial learning curve in real estate but was curious how others started or would think the best way to get myself into the game.

P.S. My area doesn't have local meetups

I've been reading tons of articles and learning the general rules of real-estate, was wondering how much should I know before I buy my first property?

I want to get into the space of real-estate but would like to network myself to have relationships with people in this space first. I would like to know if there are any good ways to get myself around these people that could make sure I am on a straight path.
