@Joe Fairless

 Yeah, I have read a few of Brandon's posts on house hacking. I'll also be sure to check out the show also. Thanks for the tip!

@Joe Fairless

 Yes, I'll live in the other side. My thoughts are that the money that I don't spend on rent can be used for marketing. I have been reading up on house hacking, and it seems like a good way to go in the beginning. Do you have any specific advice about it?

Thanks @Junior Salters! I'll be sure to take you up on that offer some time. Hopefully we can find a way to help each other out.

Also, thanks for the welcome @Dmitriy Fomichenko and @Brandon Turner!

Hey everyone,

I have been interested in real estate and have been learning about it since about my junior year in High School, but decided to go for an engineering degree in college.  While in college I tried to do wholesaling, but between class, homework, clubs and work I didn't really have the time to put in the necessary work.

After community college I transferred to UCSD. While at UCSD I finally decided that with the time I still have left to finish my degree I could be using it to gain experience in real estate, instead of building student debt. My family recently moved to Spartanburg, and since La Jolla is a bit expensive, I decided to move here also.

My interested in real estate started with SFRs but now I find that I am more interested in multifamily properties. My first goal is to start learning property management and buy a duplex in about a year or so.

I am looking forward to learning from you all and am excited to be here!
