Hi Tamara,

Thank you so much for taking time to reply to my post. I've messaged Michal to connect and looking forward to it.

Hi @Vishaal Bedi,

I'm sure @Michal Liviatan Carpenter from Lendai | BiggerPockets can help you.

Good luck!

Hi Hai,

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to my post. Haha, it really is. It is getting harder even in the US to find quality deals and so I'm just continuing to learn more along with being a part of this community and taking advantage of the opportunities as I find them.

Toronto cash flows after negative cash flowing for 3 years and you kick out both of main and basement tenants..

All jokes aside US has plenty of cash flow opportunities but shrinking by the day.. Prices have been competitive making ratios hard to meet.. but ratios will always be better then GTA..

Hi Nick,

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to my post. I agree that it's been hard in Toronto and the GTA. I had started looking further out into areas like Waterloo and Oshawa as well. Tax implications are definitely a downside not being a US citizen. For now, I'm continuing to explore the US market and see if I can find good deals that cashflow and go from there. The cost for one home locally can be 2-3 quality homes in the US.

Hey Vishaal,

Welcome! BiggerPockets is the place to be. You're right, cashflow in Toronto is not really a thing. I know there are quite a few folks on here that live in Canada and invest in the US. I have considered it too. I know there are tax implications with doing that and it is harder to get a loan over there but there are people doing it successfully and hopefully they can chime in.

Another thing you could consider is to look into other places in Ontario or Canada for that matter to find cash flowing opportunities and avoid the tax and loan complications that investing in the US might bring. Just a thought! But hopefully the Canadian US investing veterans can chime in.

Hi BiggerPockets family!

First time poster and relatively new to BiggerPockets. I've been listing to the podcast and am currently working through Brandon Turners's The Book on Real Estate Investing. I live in Toronto and the market is overpriced for cashflow opportunities and so I've been exploring the US market. I was wondering if there are any other Canadian real estate investors who have been investing in US homes? Would love to connect and hear about your experiences so far.
