I like #3 the best. We have a stove in the island and absolutely love being able to talk/entertain while cooking and not just staring at a wall. You will need a hood over the range so you do lose some line of sight but we love it.

Hey Denise! I would be happy to hear a bit more about your project and connect you with the right contractor(s). I have a bunch of contacts in the area. DM me if you're interested.

@Mark Ainley we were in the Evanston area. How about you?

Hey Nick,

I started in real estate when I was 20 and highly recommend getting a job in the field before investing in your first property. Become a rental agent, do property management, etc. and learn the business from the ground up. You can read all the books you want, but there's no better education than doing. I started as an agent, then started a property management company (while still in college) which I ran for 4 years before getting into investing full time, and am truly grateful for that experience.

Hi All!

I'm new to Bigger Pockets and I'm excited to dive into the community. I've been a real estate agent since 2009 and investing in small multifams (2-10 units) in Boston, Chicago, and NJ since 2013. I've also had my GC license since 2016. I'm still an active investor/GC, although much less nowadays, and have got into artificial intelligence and software for real estate.

I'm looking forward to interacting with you all!
