Hi all!!

I have a 4-plex I am currently trying to get occupied in Columbus, OH in the Short North area. I was approached by someone who wanted to lease it from me to put on Airbnb. 

The rent discussed is above market by about $300 and he would personally sign a lease and provide double the usual deposit.

He would furnish it and be responsible for everything related to the business. I would only be responsible for the typical landlord duties.

Does this sound like a reasonable option? Has anyone done this? What pitfalls are there that I may not be considering?

Hi everyone!

I have a condo which used to be my primary residence in Beavercreek, OH near The Mall at Fairfield Commons. I moved to Columbus for work and recently decided to rent the condo as my first property while I am still looking in Columbus to buy more investment properties.

The issue I have run into is I have worked with 2 local property management companies and have so far been extremely dissatisfied with their work. I have been trying to rent the condo for 3 months now and am running out of patience with my current PM.

Does anyone know any PMs who work in the Beavercreek area that they recommend?

I am currently looking for a good, trustworthy property manager in Dayton. I am looking to rent out my former primary residence (condo) in Beavercreek, but am a new investor looking to grow my portfolio in Dayton and Columbus. Do you know anyone that fits the bill? Or any tips for a newbie just getting started? Thank you so much for your time!

@John Horner Thank you for the welcome! I definitely would like to focus on central Ohio.  Your stated real estate goals are very similar to mine! I wish you luck in acquiring more rental units and I am sure we will cross paths in the future!

@Tim Dye That is what I like to hear! Any guidance on any particularly good or areas to avoid in Columbus? Even though I live here, I feel like I don't know a lot outside of my common areas. (Live in Dublin, work in Westerville/Polaris, date someone in Gahanna.) I am working hard to try to change that!

@Chad B. May I ask who your realtor is? Are they an investor as well? How is your experience with them so far? Best of luck to you!! I hope we can share our experiences as we invest and learn!

Hi everyone!

I have been researching (listening to a TON of BP podcasts, reading the forums, audio books, etc) and learning over the past couple months and have decided it is time to take action and begin my journey real estate investing.

I am interested in buy and hold real estate - I want to to take advantage of cashflow and begin building my portfolio today! I am currently looking at the Columbus market and am very interested in Dayton as well, although location is really not a factor for me - I will go where the deals take me.

If you have any tips, tricks or guidance that could help someone learning as they go, I would greatly appreciate it! I can't wait until I can contribute what knowledge I have to help make the path easier for others.

I am looking forward to being a part of such a wonderful community!
