Wow that was a great response. Being new to the business I thought 1 year was a short. I expected 2 years to be the norm.

. You have helped me with my decision.

Is a one year lease recommend? What are the pros, cons and need to knows?

Kevin,

I have no idea how much a CPA makes per client so I have no idea if it would save, make or lose my utilize your type service. I do have a place I can go locally for this year which will give me more time to research for next year as my number of houses increase.

All thank you for the responses. It has been much needed advises.

I am retired Navy living and working Okinawa, Japan where I will probably stay the rest of my life. I am a resident of Washington State. I have a drivers license but no address to call home. I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana which is where I am investing.

Within the last 9 months I bought three houses in Fort Wayne. Property management has house #1 under contract. #2 is waiting for potential renter (hopefully soon) and house #3 has just completed repairs and keys being turned over to property management this week.

So my question is should I get an accountant for my properties and if so should it be in Indiana or Washington State? Keep in mind I'm only going to cash flow about $1400 on all three properties.

Recommendations on accountant would be appreciated if answer is yes.

Thank you!

Vic

MaryAnne,  I am retired Navy and contractor in Okinawa. I am getting ready close on my second house in Fort Wayne. My sister is there helping me find the houses that fits with my plans and to make sure I do not buy a house I will regret later. So in my case I truly believe in having boots on the ground that are looking after your best interest.

There is a Okinawa Real Estate Investors Group on Facebook. They meet once a month.

I work and live in Okinawa but originally from Fort Wayne IN. I wish there were less investors in Fort Wayne because every time I find my first investment house I want to purchase someone else beats me to it. The time zone really hampers my communication with realtor.

When you get to Okinawa and settled in hopefully we and others can start a meet and greet group to help each other out. I am currently looking for my first property in Indiana while living here in Okinawa.

Trying to find my first deal while living in Okinawa. Looking to sit down with others to expand my knowledge and possibly help with what I know.
