Hey Vinny!!

From one Italian to another...Welcome to BP and to Nevada. I've been hanging around here on and off since 1979 so know Las Vegas and its growth. Lets connect. I presently have a property I bought for $132,000 that is out the door points and closing fees....that I am in the process of rehabbing , you can see the start of the adding 700 sq feet converting the patio, that will sell for $280,000 to $290,000...now those you can find just once in awhile..after all is said done will hit that 50k net profit mark...have others that are in my sights..If I can help in some way let me know.

Hello Bigger pocket folks,

They are a group of real estate investor mentors that wanted $40,000 to provide some pretty sophisticated software and walk you through tax liens and flipping your first two houses. They were very knowledgeable and well they claim that within 90 to 120 days you would have your monies back from the first flip you do as they average $50,000. I realize education and mentors are expensive. University studies would cost that a year. This seems at first blush worthwhile and would jump start  your investments and retirement. Anyone have any knowledge about this company and is it worth it. Do they do as they say?? is it worth it?? Thanks for your feed back..

Hi Folks,

Thanks for the feed back...Jbeard I like to  use technology for research..so if you know of some solutions let post them so that i can research them...finding properties that are deeply discounted is the biggest challenge. Carol I do not have a website yet..am working on it.

Hello Andy,

You can achieve what you set your mind to do. If you have a strong enough why and are motivated and a self starter it will happen. Start out in baby steps. I buy books on the internet at Amazon. There is some great information available and you can learn about techniques used by the mentors and you got BiggerPockets to ask questions...soooo..do not hesitate...get a book or two on the topics you want..flipping..commerical properties..analysis of deals...real estate creative financing....etc....take a couple of hours a day a note book to write your thoughts on and questions and go for it. Once you are comfortable and have some knowledge then hook up with someone that you can trust to help you...Good Luck.

Hello Andy,

Yes there are a whole bunch of mentors out there. I was in the mortgage industry and these deals fell into my lap. I like to read so I have purchased a few books. Real estate is such a great businesses with many facets. So do some reading and decide on what it is you want to do. Biggerpockets is a great resource and you can post questions for discussions and inform yourself. There are many informed and seasoned professionals on this site. My suggestion is do some reading , decide on what you want to achieve with real estate and ask questions for guidance from this site. Having a mentor in my opinion is a good idea after all some one has been there and done that and you can avoid the pitfalls.

Thank You Cody...

I was building a house on the gold course in Cedar City , Utah when my real estate agent told me she had the last 40 acres of land in the city of Brian Head, the ski resort area...absolutely beautiful country, zoned for multiple units. They where asking $4,000,000. I told her that I would look at it and put up money in escrow while doing some due diligence for 60 days and finding an interested party. On day 57 an investment banker whose son was a snowboarder took my assignable escrow by replacing the 100k9 which I got from a private party...for a 30% part of the profit...no risk...they where happy... and giving me 100k to walk away..I paid the private party their 100k plus 30k and took m70k and walked......and in the meantime my house on the golf course my agent came in with an offer making me $128,000 free and clear... before it was finished...which I took...it was a good year....

I am considering purchasing the courses and software to find properties and cash buyers. Has anyone had any experience or comments regarding this real estate Guru?
