Our mission here is to create a community of first time investors, but more importantly, to be persistent in our journey to help each other become financially free. This will become a meetup group that happens every other Wednesday evenings from 7pm to closing.

We're hoping to develop a community of first time investors coming together to help one another get into real estate. We will stay connected with blog posts I host on my site, upcoming interviews, a community wide slack channel, and more.

If you need a bit of inspiration, you can check out our blog at startuprei.com where Victor and his wife go through our struggles of learning REI to try and become financially independent.

You can also follow Josh on our Instagram page, @Startup_REI or his personal page, @Jawsh05 where he posts frequently about questions he's asked or his popular segment 'Car Thoughts' where he shares something that's been on his mind while he's commuting in LA traffic.

This week we are interviewing Alan Melkonyan, a 26 year old investor and real estate agent who worked very hard to acquire his 7 doors. We'll talk about refinancing, the powerful 1031 Exchange, and how owning at such a young age has taught him valuable lessons about tenant-owner relations.

We'll tackle some great beginner questions. We have a special guest - our first interview - real estate agent Rick Albert who will be joining us this time!

Also, check out Norwin's very own podcast called Mind and Grind on https://mindandgrind.podbean.com/. You can also find it on instagram at https://www.instagram.com/mindandgrindpodcast/?hl=en. Thanks for the support everyone!

Since we are still on social lock down this week, we are doing something brand new for our meetup! Victor and I (Josh) are going to host a live Zoom webinar for anyone who wants to join. Completely free! For our first one, we have special guest, Rick Albert, who knows not only all about being a real estate agent, but also a real estate investor. So, being a part of both worlds gives him a vast amount of knowledge that he is always willing to share and teach to others. So come join us and be a part of something new, and who knows, if this is a hit we might make this a regular thing.

Here's the info (let me know if you have trouble getting in):

We went to Detroit again (actually writing this from the hotel room!). Join us at the next meetup where we'll talk about property management, some new and repeat faces we saw, what we noticed this time around from the last, and some cool new opportunities we came across!

Hey Luis, we only do every other Wednesday night meetups. For now that's the schedule but maybe some time down the road we'll have a 'special' event for a weekend? Not sure, but as of now, to answer your question, no.

This meetup is just starting out! The idea here is to create a community of first time investors, but more importantly, to be persistent in our journey to help each other become financially free. This will become a meetup group that happens every other Wednesday evenings from 7pm to closing.

For now, the only agenda is to introduce ourselves and discuss our daily struggles of getting into real estate investing.

I'm hoping to slowly develop a community of first time investors coming together to help one another get into real estate. We will stay connected with blog posts I host on my site, upcoming interviews, a community wide slack channel, and more.

It’s our first meetup of the new decade! So, we’re going to talk about goals for this month, year, and this decade. If you’d like to come share your ideas on your goals or maybe pick up some new ones, this is the perfect meetup for you!
