What area of town are you investing in?

Yes, painfully we do required that claimed have to be closed before we can bind coverage on the SAME property.

I talked to my underwriting department and they said because in order to calculate risks--they have to see the claim report completed.

Although--if you work closely with your agent--you can ask them to work with underwriter about your specific case.  They can contact your current insurance to learn more about the claim and if they ok with what they see--they can go ahead and give you coverage.

For OTHER properties--I don't see a reason why they couldn't bind coverage you need.

I am an Insurance agent by day and real estate investor by night and weekend.  Before being an insurance agent I was working in the health care industry for almost a decade. After my first baby girl was born I needed a more flexible schedule to tend to my kid so I quit my wonderful pharm tech job and become an insurance/financial representative with COUNTY Financial.

I stumble into real estate investing by already having a rental once I got my married to my husband.  We both have our own home...and once we married we rent out the other house and start to see a little cash flow from the rental--so we start to ask how can we buy more houses to build our own empire.  One thing lead to another we start to study, look for opportunity to invest in real estate and so here I am.

Our goal is to buy and hold in the long run.

Right now our focus is in wholesale, flipping and learn more about the industry.

Having a P/C license sure help with the whole process--as an expert in insurance industry is one thing I'm not worry about when insuring a project.  Beside that I have a lot to learn.

Love BP! I learned so much from so many people here.  Greatly appreciate everyone input and help.  Great place to learn!

I'm here to stay for good!

Cheers!

Try Foremost.com -- they insure vacant properties and you can do daily rate/weekly/monthly rate with them too I believe. Good luck.

Thanks Charlie!! I thought that if the person pass away the bank will end up with the property instead of their heir since they did a reverse mortgage. I need to read into it to understand it more. Thanks!
