Hey Bigger Pockets! I am looking to purchase a short term rental property along the South Carolina coast. I am not local to this area (I live in Utah). I am looking to make some connections and/or get some feedback from individuals that have STR's along the coast.

1. If you are a real estate investor in this market, can you share areas that you invest in or areas that you would recommend I buy in?

2. If you live in this area but do not invest, where are the best areas along the coast? (For example, I have heard that Myrtle Beach specifically is not the cleanest - but the beaches on either side are..)

Thanks!

Let me rephrase. After the deal is done, what is a conservative dollar amount that I should set aside for a "rainy day"?

HI! I am new to investing and want to get some input on a strategy that my experienced real estate investor friend told me about.

Is it possible to get a an FHA loan on a fourplex? It is my understanding that with an FHA loan, the buyer can put as little as 5% down and in some cases even lower. If I am planning on living in one of the units, is this something that is possible? If so, what steps are needed to get there? What is a conservative dollar amount that I should I have in savings for a deal like this?

Thanks!
