@Cody Stone Thanks Cody. I'm hoping theres a couple of seasoned investors in the southeast Idaho area that I could use as partners or mentors. Currently I have been looking around at some multi families in the Rexburg and Idaho Falls area but haven't found anything that has caught my eye. I've got a good friend of mine that has been doing property management for about four years and he's kinda hungry to branch out and get his own. But I would love to come to the next BP meet up Cody, Please keep me posted!

@Jonna Weber Thanks so much! That's a bit of a drive but I'll put it in my iPhone the week before and contact you about the location. I'd love to come to a Bigger Pockets meet up. On a side note how is the market over in Boise area for Multi-Families? Rexburg is really saturated with student rentals, so much so a lot of the units closer to the campus are vacant.

Hey BP family,

My name is Ty Herring. I currently live in Rexburg, Idaho. I am married to my beautiful wife Camille and we have a little boy Camden who is a year old. I am going to school at the local university, soon to be graduating, studying business finance/entrepreneurship. I found bigger pockets from a friend and since then have been hooked! I listen to 2-3 Podcasts a day.

I first became interested in real estate from one of my uncles. I always wondered why he was able to travel all the time and be pretty well off. He's a mortgage underwriter in Virginia who is also a real estate investor. When he showed me what he was doing I thought that I would love to do this as another stream of income other than my primary job as a soon to be Financial Planner for Edward Jones.

As far as what I'd like to do in Real Estate, theres a couple things that interest me. Thinking long term I've thought about doing owner occupied financing and fix up the rental and live in one of the other units while I fix it up. I would transition that into a buy and hold by moving out of it and buying another, pretty much rinse and repeat every 1-2 years. I'd like to stay in multi families and eventually work my way up to Apartments.

Name: Tyler Herring

Types of investments or business (fix and flip, wholesale, house hacking, NPN, realtor, buy and hold, etc.) : Fix and Flip, Buy and Hold, House Hacking

Types of Properties: Single-families (fix & flip); multi-family (buy and hold)

Target areas, counties or cities: Rexburg, Idaho Falls, Pocatello, mostly Southeast Idaho

Do you invest in or out of state (or both): Prefer to stay in state

What are you looking for: Single and Multifamilies that need some rehab work so that I may get a good deal. To expand the network through partnerships in order to improve my net worth.

Why should others contact you: "Don't ever let someone tell you you cant do somethin'. You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period" -The Pursuit of Happyness

For as long as I can remember I have lived by this quote. I don't believe the words "I cant," I would never let someone tell me how far I could go or how much I could accomplish and I wont put limits on myself. Every day I try to push myself to new heights. I'm always looking for the next challenge or opportunity for improvement.

I recently saw this idea on the biggerpockets forum and decided that I would give it a try. Credit to @Charles Worth and @Brie Schmidt
