Can anyone offer ay advice on purchasing properties for seasonal rentals? I am all for investing in local real estate transactions however ever since we have rented properties on VRBO I have been curious if these types of investments work well for people.

This may be a silly question - but I am going to have to go on the rule that there is no such thing as a stupid question. :)

I am a very new investor and am not trying to be greedy or find the absolute best deal out there. Right now I want to learn and gain experience. I do not have a ton of money to put down on a property. Do any of you know if there is an area in North Texas or even Southern Oklahoma that have realtively low housing prices but are safe?
