Post: Is Waco becoming a good place to invest?

I spoke to a Waco-based investor at a conference the other week, and he mentioned that the Silos now get more visitors than the Alamo! Long term rentals might be hit-or-miss with inflated prices at the moment, but we know hear things are cyclical. Maybe look at doing a short-term AirBnB type rental? You could pick up tourists, and also the game-day visitors. Never underestimate the draw of a game day in a college town. :)

I'm interested as well! I signed up for the existing REIA via the website and have double-checked them on meetup.com, but have yet to see anything come through.

We own a couple restaurants if a meeting spot is needed. :)

Hey, fellow Lubbockite!

We went with an asset protection firm that charges one upfront fee with unlimited LLCs. There is a small monthly agent fee for out-of-state LLCs though. Each individual LLC is a "disregarded entity" that holds each property and reports up the holding company, which reports up to the trust (for anonymity). I know some people think one LLC per property is overkill, BUT you can transfer the LLC to another investor purchasing inside an LLC, thus avoiding closing costs and the 2 year seasoning period.

At least, that’s how it was described to me; I’m excited to give it a try. :)
