@Andrew Perkins It's great to hear that real estate has been the vehicle for creating and generating purpose for you. I think that is just it, we need a sense of purpose and that is often derived from finding something that you're passionate about doing. Have you heard of the book, "find your Why" by Simon Sinek? It talks about this and it's a great read.

I'm a new investor myself and have fully jumped into this game and it has given me new purpose as well. I have a full time job that I like but I just want to get out from underneath a company that ultimately dictates my future UNLESS I start to dictate it myself!!

Best of luck to you!

Trey

@Patricia Steiner thank you! That's the truth. We have to remember all the lessons that Covid has taught us. Things can swing in many different directions on the drop of a dime! Thanks!

@Jared Hottle. Thanks for your advice! I do like the idea of going out of state for a variety of reasons and it all starts with building trust with the property management companies. If you've come across any that you stand behind, I'd love to vet them out on my end too! A lot of shady ones from what I hear! Thanks again!

@Cory Lucas. Thank you for your thoughts on this. I agree and from what I've read and heard an investors first competitive advantage is understanding the markets you are most familiar with and live near.

Hello! I'm new to Bigger Pockets and I'm jumping into real estate investing. I do live in CT where traditionally laws don't favor landlords but I do have my real estate license. Do I have a better chance starting off in Turnkey in another state where laws are more balanced but I give up visibility and control? Thank you for your thoughts!
