Hello there!!! First of all, I want to give a HUGE thanks to BP for creating this platform to facilitate discussion/knowledge exchange for real estate investment. I haven’t used BP to it’s best potential but I plan on it, as I’m getting further involved in real estate investing. As for my question , I’m curious about what there is to offer for first time homebuyers. I’ve been informed that the FHA loan is going to be the best route and most commonly used however I did hear of a first time homebuyers incentive grant somewhere? My wife and I are looking to buy our first house so if anyone has any information of how we can take advantage of being a first time home buyer, I would greatly greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance and all the best, Trevor.

Brandon Reed thank you for warm welcome! And yes, I’m actually going Driving for Dollars right now before I head to work.

Hey y'all! My name is Trevor and , as stated per this category, I am brand new to Real Estate!

I was turned on to Real Estate from my Father-in-law (I just got married March 5, 2017) and he suggested looking into RE. His intro to me was through Tax Lien and Tax Deed investing so, that's where I've been doing the most research for the last 3 months. I'm also interested in learning more about Tax Surplus recovery.

I've been a server/bartender for the last 11 years. Went to Valencia College and finished my AA, went on to UCF for Physical Therapy aaaaaaand realized it wasn't for me (Thankfully I realized this in the first semester at
UCF and was able to get out before spending too much time/money there.)

As for my goals, I've told myself I will be out of my career as a server by the end of this year. To achieve this, I will likely start out wholesaleing because, just being honest, I don't have cash to invest in properties just yet. HOWEVER, I DO realize the value of work ethic and persistence and I know by growing those qualities within myself, the money will be soon to follow. Future goals of mine are to possibly get into Multifamily units and or Apartments (Grant Cardone has gotten to me if you couldn't tell) so I can be able to travel more with my Wife.

With my background in being a server/bartender, I have NO problem talking with most anybody. Being a bartender, you have to know how to talk and build rapport to make money and I feel as that is my greatest quality that will help me to be successful in Real Estate.

As far as how I came to find out about BP, I was introduced by a friend of mine, who is a Real Estate Investor in my area and said "Dude, you GOTTA get with BiggerPockets. That place is the Eutopia of Real Estate knowledge". I am also a member of Central Florida Realty Investors (CFRI) and they have welcomed me with open arms.

aaaaaaand that basically brings you up to speed!

So if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

Best,

Trevor
