I came across the LA state guidelines while searching for a contractor.  Looks like residential projects where the cost is greater than $75k, a licensed contractor must be used.  I think the purpose of the license is to ensure that the person performing the work is insured and has proper workers comp insurance.

I am starting to notice an increase in vacant rentals in my local area as well as an increase in SFR's available for sale. My question is other than talking to property managers, are there other indicators to trend the rental market? Something similar to the MLS statistics on inventory and age.
