I'd definitely start with meeting some active investors in your area and learning exactly what they're looking for.

Right now I am driving for dollars, searching the MLS, and attending any meeting I can involving Real Estate/Investing. I have very little money starting out so I'm hoping to do my first deal through assignment of contract.
